Effective April 18, 2026
ProofSelf is built on a simple idea: prove what you say you do. These guidelines exist to keep the community safe, honest, and focused. They apply to every user, on every tier, in every circle, on every proof.
Your proof videos must show you doing the thing, on the day you say you did it. No stock footage. No pre-recorded clips from another day. No AI-generated content. No deepfakes. No videos recorded by someone else on your behalf. If you say you did it, show it.
Do not submit fraudulent proofs. Do not manipulate timestamps, locations, or video content to make it appear you completed a standard when you did not. Do not submit false information for verification features. Do not claim tier status you have not earned through the paid subscription or any eligibility path defined in the app. Integrity is the entire point.
Your 5 and circles are accountability spaces. Keep all content respectful and appropriate. Do not use ProofSelf to attack, insult, demean, or humiliate anyone, inside or outside the app.
Do not submit videos, attachments, or profile content that contains:
Each account represents one real person. Do not create multiple accounts. Do not share your account with others. Do not sell, rent, or transfer your account. Do not impersonate another person, real or fictional.
Do not include other people in your proof videos without their informed consent. If someone else appears in your video — a partner, a coworker, a stranger in a public place — make sure they are aware and comfortable. Never film minors in your proofs without the explicit consent of their legal guardian, and prefer to keep minors out of your proofs entirely.
Do not share, download, screenshot, record, re-upload, or redistribute another member's proof videos outside of ProofSelf. What is shared inside a circle stays inside that circle. Violations are grounds for immediate account termination.
ProofSelf provides tools to flag content or behavior you believe violates these guidelines. Use them in good faith, for genuine concerns. Do not use flagging to harass, target, retaliate against, or gain advantage over another user. Flag submissions are confidential, and abuse of the flagging system is itself a violation and may result in account suspension or termination.
Flags are signals for human review, not automatic enforcement. A flag alone does not remove content, suspend an account, or change anyone's status.
ProofSelf is for personal accountability. Do not use proof videos, circles, or profile fields to advertise, solicit, recruit for, or promote external products, services, or businesses. Your profile may include a single company link and a single social link for context. These must be factual, not promotional.
You must be 18 years or older to use ProofSelf. If we discover an account belongs to someone under 18, we will remove it immediately and delete all associated data.
If you encounter content or behavior that violates these guidelines, you can report it in two ways:
Reports are confidential. The reported user is not told who flagged them. Please include what you saw, where you saw it, and any context that helps us review fairly.
We review reports and take action as needed. Our current response targets are:
If we need more information, we will contact the reporter. If we take action on a reported account, we will notify the affected user with the reason. These are targets, not guarantees. Response times may vary during weekends, holidays, and high-volume periods.
When we find a violation, we may take one or more of the following actions, scaled to severity and history:
Severe violations (harassment, illegal content, content involving minors, fraud) result in immediate termination with no warning. Repeated violations result in termination regardless of severity.
You can block another user at any time. Blocking removes them from your visibility and prevents them from seeing your content. You can leave any circle at any time. You do not need to wait for any rule or window to leave a circle that feels unsafe.
If you believe an enforcement action against your account was a mistake, contact support@proofself.com with your account username and a description of what happened. We review appeals in good faith. The decision after review is final for that incident.
We may update these guidelines as the community grows. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email.
